Marhaba Lounge

The Marhaba Lounge at Dubai Airport Terminal 3, Concourse A is the only “independent” lounge at Emirate’s A380 bastion, although it is technically operated by Emirates under the Marhaba brand, and advertised on the airline’s web site as a pay-in amenity for Economy passengers. The lounge also welcomes various card holders such as Priority Pass and Diners Club.

Tucked in a mezzanine above the concourse, the Marhaba Lounge features a simple yet modern and elegant design, with marble floors, warm tones, dark wooden partitions, and comfortable furniture. Most seats come with a power outlet, a lamp, and a red pillow which adds a classy touch.

Thanks to the airport’s signature soaring ceilings and large windows, the lounge benefits from an abundance of natural light, as well as views of the tarmac. The mezzanine location also affords views on the concourse below.

Compared to the other, older Marhaba Lounges at Dubai Airport at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, Concourse B, the Concourse A location feels fresh and modern. Sharp eyes will note how the space borrows a few design elements from Emirates’ flagship lounges such as the floor standing lamps. Make no mistake, though, Emirates’ premium lounges are in a different league and in comparison, the Marhaba lounge feels somewhat cramped, crowded and hectic.

The Marhaba Lounge offers a range of amenities such as a smoking area, a kids’ zone, and secluded seating spaces. Showers are also available, albeit for an extra fee.

The buffet offers a generous selection of cold and hot appetizers and entrees and is very suitable for a full meal on the ground. Self-serve alcoholic beverages are also available.

Like all Dubai airport lounges, the Marhaba Lounge is open 24 hours a day. Patrons spending the night at the airport will appreciate the few private sleeping pods, though realistically, they’re unlikely to be available. The seating area is otherwise quiet at nights, but does not feature recliners.

Overall, the Marhaba Lounge at Dubai Airport Terminal 3, Concourse A is a comfortable place to sit and features an enjoyable buffet, which is the main draw of the lounge. While the seating area is well appointed, it is often busy, and perhaps less private than some of the more secluded spots in the sprawling concourse.
