On our outbound flight, we got into the AirFrance 2L Lounge at CDG. A really spectacular lounge as spaciousness goes, ample kinds of different seating, great amenities and really good food.

Then. Our our return trip we had to use the AirFrance 2K. I don’t think let-down is even capable of describing this lounge. It was way too over-crowded, facilities are tired and old. Bathrooms were terrible and the food looks like leftovers from Economy class flights get put into platters under spotlight.

I’ve never seen such a contrast. I would rate the lounge in Hall L (2L) as one of the best I’ve ever been to and up there with the best of them. and then you step into the one in K (2K) and its just such a downgrade its amazing.

I hope AirFrance has plans to close this thing and re-do it. Because next time I’m just walking to 2L even it means clearing security all over again, its worth it.

This is an enormous lounge which has plenty to offer. Had a long stop over on my way to Cape Town and spent most of the time in here (after finding the right part of the airport to go to, as this is rather confusing -especially if you happen to have an unannounced gate change…). The lounge is large and clean and very well staffed and -later in the evening not too crowded. Staff was nice, even though it took them three times at the check in to understand that not everyone speaks French. Some nicer seats are blocked for what seemed first class passengers, which did not matter that much though, as there are plenty of other rooms.

Choice of food was very good. Soup, a warm/cold buffet, cheese and dessert. Drinks were nice as well (self serve soft drinks, coffe, beer and very decent selection of red and white wines).

The shower and spa area was closed for the evening and even when asking whether it would be possible to take a shower the staff did not open up, which was the only down side of the visit. Other than that, man entities are those that one excepts: normal tables to sit and dine, sofa chairs to relax, work stations (plenty) and free WiFi.

I had a 3.5 hr lay over in CDG. The lounge is reasonably sized and staff was mostly friendly even though was not able to speak any French with them. Even though the lounge is huge, some areas are blocked of for VIP guests (First?).

Good food and drinks for a business lounge. Excellent red wine (which was to be expected in France!!!).

Showers and Spa were closed as this was later in the evening. Work stations are ok and provide ample connection possibilities for the international traveller to hook up his/her equipment. WIFI is ok.
