    Marhaba Arrivals Lounge- Bahrain

    Rude and Disrespectful Staff

Given my frequent travels, I have visited many lounges worldwide spanning from China in the east to Mexico in the west. Throughout my experience, with hotels, airlines or other travel industry companies, I have never come across such disrespectful indecent behavior and terrible experience as the one in the Marhaba Arrivals Lounge at the Bahrain International Airport.
Through my various cards as Amex platinum, Visa signature, Priority Pass, and Lounge key, I have access to the Marhaba Arrivals Lounge (located before the immigration desks) as displayed in the websites, and associated apps.
Upon approaching the lounge entrance, the lounge seemed dim, so I approached the Marhaba counter outside the lounge, and informed the receptionist that we (myself and family) would like to enter the lounge. So he mentioned that it’s not possible. I informed him that I’m a holder for various cards which avail access, but he said otherwise. So I asked for the person in charge to see what the issue is. The receptionist called the supervisor that was apparently sitting on her desk/office behind the reception partition. All of a sudden I was hearing her talking loudly from behind the partition asking what I wanted rather than having the decency to either show up in person and talk or asking the receptionist to let me in to discuss this!! In disbelief about what is actually happening, I have asked the receptionist for the manager in charge, and he mentioned that she was the supervisor. Then suddenly, I heard her saying “uffff” (showing her frustration) in a high voice, which was extremely rude, and not acceptable by any standards, let alone the hospitality sector! She appeared from behind the reception partition, and rather than listening to what I have to say, she just said that this lounge is for departures, and went back indoors!
No customer would ever accept such indecent insulting behavior. Such a lounge that is in the forefront of the arrivals section should portray to passengers the kind and warm hospitality of the Bahraini culture, and not disgrace this image to the passengers through such rude behavior.
This disrespectful behavior not only affects the image of Marhaba brand lounges, but also tarnishes the image of Bahrain hospitality. Fortunately, I am aware of the fine Bahraini hospitality, and do not accept such indecent behavior affect my image, but certainly affects my perception of the Marhaba brand!.
