Overall ratings
This lounge is recently redesigned, but it’s … not good and staffed badly. I was here last week. This place was at the literal opposite end of the airport from my gate with no signage. I had to walk past three other lounges to ask for directions. Once inside, you reach the bar first, and I should have realized something was off when the top plate on the finger food buffet was dirty. Okay, so I moved it, and the next one was also filthy. I asked the bartender for a clean plate. She lifted the top plate, saw that the plate beneath was dirty (only two out), LEFT THE DIRTY PLATES THERE, and reached under the bar to get out one single clean plate for me.
Children were racing around screaming, never invited to the children’s area. There’s no music playing, so the only “ambiance” is other people chatting, exhausted children screaming, and people using devices without headphones. The airport itself was quieter, no lie.
Toilets were dirty with tissue on the main floor, so I let the staff know and went to the toilet upstairs, only to find the seat was loose, and I nearly fell in. It would have been very dangerous for an elderly woman.
It was advertised that we’d have special transport to our flights — no jetways, just buses — but no. I had to walk across the entire airport to get double-screened again.
Food was fine — the Turkish pastries were particularly good, and the mint tea was loose leaf (yay) but not strained (not yay). The bar upstairs is the quietest area and has the best seating, but the food selection was poor.
Unpleasant, bad ambiance, broken facilities, and dirty.
Lounge closed (it’s 11.28am as I write this) and no staff around to ask if/when it’ll open – the only staff who are around develop selective hearing when you try to ask them a question or direct you to the useless and unstaffed information desks. So can’t even ask if there are alternative facilities.
