Lounge closed: The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse and Virgin v-room at London Gatwick airport closed permanently in May 2020, as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Virgin Atlantic now operates exclusively out of London Heathrow, where eligible passengers have access to the flagship Clubhouse.

Exclusively for Virgin Holidays customers, the v-room at London Gatwick airport is a dynamic and vibrant space with a wealth of amenities for families, including hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, a kid’s room, and a lounge for teenagers equipped with a racing car simulator, XBOX with Kinect and table foosball.

Virgin Holidays customers who book access to the v-room also benefit from access to the premium security checkpoint for a faster experience.

My husband and I booked the Vroom following our previous experiences using the clubhouse. We were disappointed that we had to pay for the use of a lounge when we had booked premium economy, which in the past was complimentary. We had endured a long and tiring journey to the airport and were looking forward to unwinding before our long haul flight. We were so disappointed when we arrived it was full of excited children running around, shouting and screaming pushing you out the way in order to get to the food. The noise was deafening and after a quick bite to eat we decided to leave in order to find somewhere more peaceful. We were amazed to find the main terminal building was so much quieter. Needless to say we won’t be booking the VRoom again. The Vroom is geared up for families but is not suitable for anyone who enjoys peace and quiet. On a positive note the food was good.
