Overall ratings
I visited the BA First lounge in Houston on 07 November 2018. The lounge is quiet, comfortable but very small. The usual alcoholic beverages on offer are of good quality. The food offering is practically non existent. There are 4 types of sandwiches, (which had run out) and a pan of beef chilli. No rice included. There is nothing else to eat apart from bags of crisps.
BA may have undertaken surveys and concluded that food is not needed in their lounges because passengers are adequately fed on their planes. Notwithstanding, it is unusual for there to be such a limited food option, given the prices they charge for a first class ticket.
Sat outside this lounge for an hour, waiting for the staff to show up. Lounge was supposed to open at 1pm, but staff kept the doors locked until 2pm. When they did finally unlock the door, they denied my entry merely because I had a domestic connection before my transatlantic flight. Never encountered anything like that elsewhere. They claimed that it was because otherwise the lounge would get too crowded; apparently. !
Just an average BA-Lounge but the apron-view is really great. Enough seating available during our short stay.
Kind of disappointing. Just soup, a few sandwiches and some packaged stuff. Selection of beverages ok, but no champagne.
Free WIFI, newspapers and magazines. Office-area with some workstations.
