Overall ratings
I had a good time during my Thursday 15:30 visit. It was busy when my wife and I first arrived, but we got in right away. Within 30 mins, people started trickling out. I couldn’t place an advance reservation on the PP app, but that’s probably related to PP and not the lounge.
Design: Nice view of the tarmac. Interior aesthetics are adequate. Neither exciting nor boring.
Ambiance: Good. No background music, which may be a pro or a con, depending on your preference. Lots of dishes clinking.
Food and Beverages: Average. Japanese selection of foods. Desserts weren’t really up to par. I enjoyed my main course, although it wasn’t anything exciting.
Amenities: Air-conditioned main room with many universal outlets, USB-C 18W PD, and USB-A 5V/2.4A ports. The annex room was noticeably warmer.
Service: Reasonably quick at cleaning trays. Quick to serve food, as well. No staff went out of their way to offer personal service or check on me, which would have yielded a fifth star.
The primary issue is that you have to leave the lounge to find a bathroom.
After enjoying several airport lounges via our American Express card, I was looking forward to checking out the lounge at Narita Airport Terminal 1. Unfortunately, it was very underwhelming. Overall, it lacked any kind of relaxing vibe. It felt more like a cafeteria. One side was extremely bright with the window shades up, so I wanted to move to another area. The food and drinks were basic, but what struck me the most was the dreadful wine out of a machine. It was like the cheapest boxed wine you could find, and barely drinkable. For an ‘exclusive’ lounge, you’d think they’d at least have some adequate choices. I wouldn’t go there again.
Very limited food. Has a few snacks and maybe some spaghetti. Self serve, beer, wine, cider was good.
