IGA Pop-Up Lounge IST design
Located in a reclaimed gate area, with seating for approximately 20 guests, the IGA Pop-Up Lounge is an intimate space, and by far the smallest lounge at Istanbul airport. The large windows overlooking the tarmac aside, the club is woefully unremarkable and feels hastily put together. However, the pop-up lounge is seldom visited and typically quiet, which is noteworthy given the crowds at the larger clubs.
Istanbul airport is kept on the warmer side by western standards, and the pop-up lounge could benefit, in our opinion, from a stronger air conditioning system. The ample daylight is a blessing, but it can get pretty hot by the windows. In comparison, the lounges in the central terminal tend to be cooler.
Due to its semi-temporary status, the IGA pop-up lounge has few power points, with only a handful of outlets throughout the space.
IGA Pop-Up Lounge IST amenities
The IGA Pop-Up Lounge at Istanbul airport only offers a set of essential amenities.
Guests will find a modest food spread consisting of snacks and nibbles, as well as bottled water, a selection of soft drinks, and an espresso machine. There are no alcoholic beverages at the pop-up lounge.
The pop-up lounge also lacks a bathroom, though public facilities are located in the vicinity.
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available. Per Turkish regulations, customers need to scan their passport in order to gain access, but a scanner is conveniently available in the reception area.
IGA Pop-Up Lounge IST bottom line
The IGA Pop-Up Lounge at Istanbul airport is a small, basic facility—a far cry from the main IGA Lounge in the central terminal. At a first glance, there might not be any reason to visit the pop-up lounge in lieu of the main lounge. The main lounge has a substantially larger food and beverage selection, a bar, showers, a family room, and a business center among other amenities. But it’s also routinely crowded, and a long walk from departure gates. In contrast, the pop-up lounge is conveniently located in the vicinity of the A gates, and generally quiet. Passengers connecting between flights in Concourse A might find the pop-up lounge an enjoyable and conveniently-located alternative to the main IGA Lounge.
We hope that the concept is successful and that IGA, the airport operator, adds additional outposts near gates B, C, D, and E.
- The peaceful and serene environment.
- The large windows overlooking the tarmac.

Overall ratings
One of the worst. We upgraded to business but you do not get lounge access if you upgrade so bought a lounge pass for here. We had bought the same for domestic flight the week before. Again dire. But this? No toilets. AWFUL ‘choice’ of food considering I love Turkish food. It was slop, rice, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, something else unlabelled and a few dry bits of cake.
It’s has been and Turkish wine…but that runs out.
No wifi. Well, there is but it doesn’t work.
Absolutely not work the money. €20 for a glass of wine and staff forever on their phones. You ask them to clean a table that is filthy and it’s like you asked them to fly to the moon.
In short – save your money.
it has a pleasant ambience
Don’t come here, it’s absolutely rubbish.
Nothing to eat and it doesn’t even have toilets facilities. Incredible. Just don’t come here
