The Ses’fikile Lounge at Johannesburg O.R. Tambo international airport offers all passengers arriving on international flights, regardless of airline or class of service, the option to shower and enjoy a light meal for a fee. The club also welcomes members of various lounge access programs such as Priority Pass.
Arrivals lounges are especially convenient for customers who need to go straight to work from the airport, or whose hotel may not let them check in early in the morning. They also give passengers the option to skip breakfast onboard in order to maximize sleep time. Unlike most arrivals lounges, the Ses’fikile Lounge is open until the evening and is therefore available for passengers wishing to have a quick lunch or dinner.
To reach the lounge, pick up your bags and exit immigration and customs, then watch for signs to the lounge and take the elevator to the upper level. Do not go through the automatic door on the lower level, or you’ll exit the secure arrivals area and (in theory) will not allowed to get back in.
The Ses’fikile Lounge features a modern and functional design. While space lacks windows, that’s unlikely to be an inconvenience for passengers who seek to shower or eat a quick breakfast ahead of their work day.
The shower suites come with a toilet, rain shower, and plenty of room to change. Towels and bath amenities are provided.
Pay-in customers may pay for a shower only (R170) or a shower plus a two hour stay with a light meal (R280.)
Note that inbound premium South African Airways passengers may use the South African Airways Arrivals Lounge immediately across the Ses’fikile Lounge at no cost, although the former closes at 12:30 p.m.
