At the First Lounge, the traditional SWISS design is realized to its full potential — the signature elements, such as the accent walls made of Jura stone, Vitra seats, minimalist furniture and and gorgeous dark hardwood floors are all present, but unlike at the Business and Senator lounges, they are complemented by colorful touches such as fresh flowers, bookcases displaying books and art, and coffee tables.

The peaceful design permeates the traveler, who finds immediate relaxation and a private sanctuary — the lounge serves less than 200 passengers a day and is therefore typically very quiet.

The First Class lounge features a wide range of upper scale amenities. In addition to seating areas and workspaces, beautifully appointed shower suites featuring Bvlgari amenities are available. A true highlight is the private rooms and suites available upon request: setup like hotel rooms, they feature a real bed with bedding amenities, as well as an en-suite shower. This truly high-end unique amenity which provides an outstanding level of comfort and privacy, has very few equivalents worldwide and truly sets this lounge apart. Even Lufthansa’s day rooms at the Frankfurt First Class terminal pale in comparison (the Lufthansa group owns SWISS.)

Catering wise, patrons may choose to help themselves from the central buffet offering a broad selection of snacks, small plates, and desserts, or can enjoy a sit-down meal at the full service restaurant. Diners enjoy private tables with linen, waiter service, and a fine selection of alcoholic beverages. While the surroundings are elegant and the service attentive, the fare is perhaps too simple to impress. On that point, the Lufthansa mother ship’s First Class lounges definitely outshine the SWISS First Class lounge.
