Situated on a mezzanine floor overlooking the concourse and the airfield, the Delta Sky Club feels open and airy, but noise from the concourse may bleed in, despite Delta’s attempt to shield the space acoustically as much as possible.
The bold and modern décor is inspired from the Newark area (“a harmonious blend of the natural and the industrial”, according to Delta.) Some of the color patterns and textures are indeed unique to the Newark location, although overall, Delta’s unmistakable corporate DNA dominates the design. The grey carpets, faceted accent wall in the lobby, customer service pods, and couches with built-in power outlets are all familiar fixtures. Yet, some elements of the design truly stand out, such as the signature bar with its sculptural ceiling, and the partitions adorned with local art.
Guests have their choice of a variety of seating options ranging from individual recliners and booth seating to communal tables. Power, USB ports, and fast Wi-Fi are available at every seat. There are also a number of wireless charging points.
The Delta Sky Club at New York/Newark Airport Terminal A features a full hot buffet, with fresh fare cooked on site in the lounge kitchen. House wines and well alcoholic drinks are complimentary at the bar, while premium cocktails and liquor are available for purchase.
The Sky Club EWR serves primarily domestic passengers, and as such showers are not available at this location.
The Delta Sky Club at Newark Airport may not have all the bells and whistles of the carrier’s flagship lounges at New York JFK such as a Sky Deck, but given Delta’s small footprint at Newark, the Sky Club EWR is likely to be significantly quieter than its JFK counterparts.
