The HSBC Premier Lounge at Istanbul Ataturk airport belongs to a burgeoning network of worldwide lounges operated by the banking giant HSBC for their Premier customers and credit card holders. It’s hardly exclusive, though – members of popular lounge access programs such as Priority Pass and Lounge Club are also welcome.
Located above the food court, the club is a bit of a hike from the security checkpoint and may not be easy to find at a first glance – use the escalator above the food court and then turn around when you face the Comfort Lounge.
HSBC Premier Lounge ISL design
The HSBC lounge is comprised of single room with an open floor plan. The use of light colors, the spacious layout, indoor plants, elegant designer furniture and soft lighting create a modern and sophisticated vibe. The design is effective at masking the overall lack of natural light – the lounge overlooks the concourse, with no view on the tarmac or airport grounds.
The space boasts a slight Scandinavian flair with clean lines and IKEA-like shelves and coffee tables. The seats by the window feel pretty private, and the overall seating arrangement does a good job at catering both to individual travelers and groups. Power outlets are available along the walls and windows, although unfortunately not at every seat. Laptop users will also find convenient counter-style seating.
HSBC Premier Lounge ISL amenities
Convenient digital lockers are available to store carry-ons, although realistically the lounge isn’t large enough that one may feel the need to leave bags behind.
To the right of the reception desk is a small business center with standing desks, shared computers, and a printer. The space is definitely tight, though at least it’s very private – no one will glance at your screen.
The food and beverage selection is simple but generous. A buffet offers a selection of salads and snacks, as well as surprisingly large array of desserts and sweets. They definitely hit the spot, but overall more substantial entrée-like items would be welcome. Soft drinks and wines are available for self-service, as well as a very limited liquor selection. A lovely Lavazza espresso machine is available along with tea, Turkish coffee, and drip coffee.
Other amenities include a selection of newspapers and magazines as well as – this being an HSBC lounge – an ATM by the entrance.
HSBC Premier Lounge ISL bottom line
Overall, the HSBC Premier Lounge at Istanbul Ataturk airport is a pleasant and well-appointed lounge that’s also relatively quiet, as it operates primarily on a membership basis and does not welcome airline invited guests. The amenities aren’t expansive – the lack of showers may be a downside for international travelers – but the space is clean and welcoming, the layout offers ample privacy, and the food and beverage offering is substantial. The nearby Primeclass lounge offer additional amenities, but feels busier, less private and less inviting overall.
- The elegant and modern design.
- The serene and calm ambiance.
- The dessert selection.
- The lack of natural light.
- The lack of showers.

There isnt any notice that condition has changed
I’ve always enjoyed waiting there. Excellent service, very quiet, good food
HSBC is a global bank and have branches everywhere in the world. I still do not get why premiere credit cards that was issued by another country is not accepted at HSBC Lounge Istanbul. I have a world premiere card and I was refused at the entrance of the lounge. Customers should be notified when banks are selling their products about the limitations of products.
Nice And Quiet
It should be free for all premier card holders not only Turks. Besides we should have been told before we entered not after about 20 minutes that conditions have changed. It should have been clearly indicated in a notice at the entrance.
An elegant and well-appointed lounge that is typically quiet.
