The TEI Lounge Business and Travel Support Center at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport Terminal 1 is one of the few clubs located landside (before security.) The lounge can be found within the shopping and dining area at the junction of the North and South wings, on the top floor (follow the signs to “Rental Lounge.”)
The club welcomes all passengers, regardless of airline or class or service, for a fee, as well as Priority Pass members and holders of various credit cards.
T.E.I. Lounge Business & Travel Support Center NRT design
A relic from another era, the TEI Lounge Business and Travel Support Center looks like a typical staff break room. The small reception area, cluttered with flyers and brochures, leads to a compact and plain seating area with seating for approximately 30 guests.
Seating options include café-style dining tables and groups of seats around coffee tables. The open design and tight layout offers virtually no privacy, though the lounge sees little use, so that’s unlikely to be an issue. There are a few power strips on the floor, but most seats lack access to a power outlet.
The room benefits from daylight, though the windows look out over another building.
T.E.I. Lounge Business & Travel Support Center NRT amenities
The TEI Lounge Business and Travel Support Center at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport Terminal 1 is meant as a private seating area and offers virtually no amenities.
Patrons will find a soda fountain along with an espresso machine. Guests are technically entitled to one drink only, and there are no snacks of any kind.
In the reception area are a few computers as well as a printer/copier available for a fee.
The TEI lounge lacks a bathroom, but public facilities are available nearby.
T.E.I. Lounge Business & Travel Support Center NRT bottom line
The TEI Lounge Business and Travel Support Center is one of the most bare and basic lounges at Tokyo-Narita International Airport, and we’d be hard pressed to find a reason to visit.
The club does offer a quiet seating area which might be appropriate to catch up on work—but the bland environment is a step down from the dynamic concourse, and Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout the airport. The ability to make copies or send a fax might be convenient, but there is a charge for the service in addition to the entry fee.
If you are transiting and don’t have lounge access, consider using the Rassurants Traveler’s Lounge immediately across the TEI Lounge; while it is equally unimpressive, at least it is free for travelers in transit between international flights.
- The quiet seating area.
- The old-fashioned décor and lack of power outlets.
- The lack of a bathroom.
- The lack of snacks.
