The lounge is operated in partnership between United and Air Canada. Both United and Air Canada access rules apply, which means that, for example, Air Canada Elite 50K members and above can invite immediate family members and a first guest at no charge. In addition, Air Canada agents are available at the club to help customers traveling to Canada.
Spreading across 15,000 square meters, with space for 350 guests, the United Club is a welcome addition to the brand new Terminal A where United occupies 17 gate. It’s also a dramatic upgrade over its modest predecessor.
The club boasts a unique residential design inspired by New York City, with a dramatic mural by artist Antoinette Ellis-Williams, professor of women’s and gender studies at New Jersey City University. Guests will find their choice of solo seats, communal work tables, tabletop seating, individual productivity booths, dining tables, and luxurious recliners facing the dramatic window wall overlooking the tarmac. Power, USB-A and USB-C outlets are available at every seat.
The buffet features a selection of cold and hot entrees, as well as a selection of snacks, soups, and sweets. House wines and well drinks are complimentary, while premium alcoholic beverages are available for purchase. The club also sports a water bottle filling station, Coca-Cola Freestyle machines with touch-screen access to thousands of soda flavors, as well as espresso machines.
Other amenities include an elegantly appointed wellness room (that can serve as new mother’s room, a prayer room, or a changing room), fast Wi-Fi, and access to an online selection of newspapers and magazines.
Despite its premium feel, the Terminal A lacks a few of the luxurious touches of the Terminal C location. Specifically, guests looking for a shower or a handcrafted espresso drink may want to make the trek to the flagship United Club near gate C123. (However, the United Club near gate C123 is not co-branded with Air Canada, so Air Canada-specific access rules do not apply.)

Overall ratings
Large attractive lounge. Quiet places to sit and work to the left after entry – busier areas (bar and buffet) to the right. The bar and design are the highlights – lacks the amenities of the larger clubs in Terminal C. However, the food options are surprisingly varied. Key problem is restrooms are too small and open air layout means noise from terminal seeps in. Interesting that it also functions as a Maple Leaf Lounge – AC rep in the lounge to help too.
