They key asset of the VIP Lounge is its sheer size – it is comparable to the very large United Club underneath, and yet it serves a significantly smaller number of passengers, therefore offering a much more quiet and relaxing experience.
The lounge area is subdivided by Japanese style partitions and artwork. Ceiling lights create a soothing experience. Yet, the décor is dated and could use a refurbishment.
Massage chairs, complete with towels, are available, as well as self-service computers.
The lounge features multiple spacious and well-appointed individual shower suites with a large shower, sink, and toilet. Customers receive a luxurious shower kit with a wide range of amenities including Philosophy branded products.
The Global First lounge has its own reception desk where customers can obtain travel assistance. However, service is overall pretty limited – there is no wait staff to bring food or take drink orders, and passengers are not escorted to their flights.
Overall, while rather dated, the United VIP Lounge at Tokyo Narita is an elegant and quiet lounge.
- The space, artwork, and privacy.
- The automated beer machine.
- The well-appointed shower suites.
- The basic food options, compared to the spread on offer at the ANA Suite lounge.
- The lack of personal service.

A good lounge, but in need of a refurbishment and the food and service are so-so.
