The Singapore Airlines First Class Lounge at Singapore Changi airport Terminal 2 serves Singapore Airlines and Star Alliance First Class customers departing from Terminal 2. Singapore Airlines offers another First Class lounge in Terminal 3, as well as an exclusive facility for its own First/Suites customers, The Private Room, also in Terminal 3.
Singapore Airlines First Class Lounge SIN design
While Singapore Changi airport is widely acclaimed as of the best designed and appealing airports in the world, Terminal 2 is starting to show its age compared with the flagship Terminal 3. With ample marble features and flowers, the Singapore Airlines First Class Lounge wants to be posh, but the physical space fails to impress: the low ceilings and small windows give the lounge a gloomy vibe. Singapore Airlines should consider brighter lighting or a lighter carpet to enhance the décor.
With relatively few Star Alliance flights departing from Terminal 2, the lounge features ample seating space and a large dining room which give patrons plenty of space and privacy. Yet, the low ceilings and marble surfaces tend to make the lounge noisy, especially in the dining area.
For the ultimate in privacy, the lounge offers a few individual phone rooms with comfortable seating.
Singapore Airlines First Class Lounge SIN amenities
The Singapore Airlines First Class Lounge at Singapore Changi airport Terminal 2 offers a solid set of amenities, although none are particularly impressive for First Class.
The buffet features a broad selection of hot and cold items with both western and Asian flavors, as well as a large assortment of drinks. A full bar is available along with a bartender.
The large and elegant bathroom area includes a few shower suites, though they’re definitely on the small side. Towels, bath products and amenities are provided. There is no need to request a shower – just walk straight into any room that happens to be available.
Families will enjoy the separate kids’ room.
Singapore Airlines First Class Lounge SIN bottom line
The Singapore Airlines First Class Lounge at Singapore Changi airport Terminal 2 features plenty of space to sit, shower rooms, and a full hot buffet. It’s a convenient amenity for passengers departing from Terminal 2, yet it doesn’t especially scream First Class and is in our opinion no match for the First Class lounge in Terminal 3.
While most Star Alliance First Class passengers departing from Terminal 2 probably won’t find it worthwhile to take the train over to Terminal 3 just to experience a more vibrant space, Singapore Airlines’ own First and Suites passengers should definitely consider visiting The Private Room in Terminal 3, where they will find an indulgent environment with a-la-carte dining and exquisite surroundings. Just make sure to allocate enough time to return to Terminal 2 and go through security.
Singapore Airlines will eventually remodel the lounge and implement the new “Home away from home” design concept already featured at a few locations including London Heathrow and Hong Kong, though there is no firm timeline for the project.
- The appealing buffet and broad selection of food and beverages.
- The large bathroom and showers.
- The low ceilings and lack of natural light.
- The crowds at peak time.

A nice lounge with a lovely buffet, but a far cry from 5 stars.
