The United Club at Seattle-Tacoma airport opened in 2013 as part of the airline’s move from Satellite N to Concourse A. It is located across gate A9, on the mezzanine level.
United Club SEA design
The United Club at Seattle-Tacoma airport features United’s latest lounge design premiered in Chicago, with white marble, Jacobsen egg chairs, designer light fixtures, private workspaces, and power and USB outlets at every seat.
The space is fresh, modern, and ultra functional, to the point of being a bit bland, with dominant white tones and few colors, except in the bar area.
The lounge is divided into a large seating area and a mixed dining/bar area. Passengers have their choice of over-sized seats with individual lamps, shared work tables, dining tables, and booths.
The United Club boasts vistas of Mount Rainier (on sunny days) and the Cascades mountain range, though the construction of a new international facilities is bound to block most windows early 2019. The—far less desirable—views on the lower concourse from the bar and dining area will be preserved.
Given United’s drastic service cuts to the Pacific Northwest and the location of the lounge in Concourse A, away from Star Alliance partner airlines which operate out of Satellite S, the United Club is typically exquisitely quiet.
United Club SEA amenities
The United Club at Seattle airport offers a set of essential amenities.
The food and beverage selection is typical of United’s domestic offering at non-hub airports. It consists of a hearty breakfast with yogurt, oatmeal, and pastries followed by snacks, soups and salads throughout the day. Complimentary drinks include soft drinks, tea and espresso, and house wine and liquor. Premium drinks are available for purchase. Note that there are two serving areas: beverages and light snacks are located in the hallway, while a more substantial selection is available in the bar area, by the window.
Two private workspaces, which double as phone rooms and ad-hoc meeting spaces are located next to the lobby, and offer a quiet and private environment. A fax/printer/copier is also located to the left of the reception desk.
The bathrooms are immaculate but on the small side, with only a single stall on the gentlemen’s side. A unisex/family bathroom is also available.
Other amenities include a selection of newspapers and magazines, as well as access to online publications.

Overall ratings
Breakfast buffet is a stretch. There is oatmeal and loads of carbs available, plus some fresh fruit. I left to get some actual breakfast (eggs! protein of any kind!) from a nearby restaurant and the woman at the front desk told me I couldn’t bring any food back into the club. Whatevs, lady. I’m going to be here for 4 hours and I’m not eating bagels for breakfast. There are two phone booths in this club which were designed by – somebody who apparently has never sat at a desk and talked on the phone. The desk was somewhere between desk and bar height, but the chair was a standard height office chair. The worst of all though was THE SOUND! I could hear the guy next to me loud and clear as well as every conversation of every person coming in and out of the club. Yes, there were walls and a (glass) door. No, they might as well not have been there. This place is just poorly designed, and naturally every club I’ve been to outside the U.S. is much better in terms of food.
The lounge features a nice and modern interior and offers a good amount of seating with only few guests present when I was there. Sunday morning though…
The breakfast selection is very modest. Beverages can only be had at the bar. For premium drinks you have to pay even when holding an international First Class Ticket. This is not good.
Free WIFI and some newspapers. Nice and clean restrooms.
The interior seemed nice and bright. I received a good welcome from the front desk.
They could not even offer bottles of water. I wanted one to take on the plane and they said that they didn’t offer any. The only options on food were some small bagels, yogurt and bananas. Very disappointing and limited food choice.
A brand new lounge showcasing United’s latest design. A rather reasonable facility for Seattle, however amenities are basic as in all United Clubs.
