The club welcomes Turkish Airlines business class passengers, Miles&Smiles Elite members, and Star Alliance Gold members, in line with traditional Star Alliance rules.
Tokyo Narita feels like somewhat of an odd location for a Turkish Airlines Lounge: not only is the airport the hub of Japan’s All Nippon Airways, a fellow Star Alliance member, but it’s also a United mini-hub. Star Alliance elite and premium customers are already spoiled with two spacious ANA Lounges in Satellite 2 and Satellite 5, plus a sprawling United Club in the central building.
Yet, Turkish Airlines sensed an opportunity. A premium lounge space was left vacant in Satellite 4 when ANA shuttered their business and First Class lounges at the onset of the COVID pandemic. The Turkish carrier moved in and relocated their boarding gate steps away from their new club, offering a more seamless ground experience.
The decor will feel oddly familiar to long-time ANA flyers. When ANA vacated the premises, they mothballed the space, and much of the design has stay intact. The overall layout, as well as the dividers, bathrooms, and showers haven’t changed since the ANA days, but Turkish has laid out new hardwood floors and remodeled the lobby and buffet area. The result is an eclectic mix of styles, which, incidentally, works rather well. You’ll find panoramic tarmac views, comfortable recliners, and plenty of secluded spots where ANA used to host First Class guests.
The culinary offerings are definitely Turkish, however. The Turkish Airlines Lounge is the only club at Narita airport to serve pide, and it also has an open kitchen cranking out hot fare all day long.
Amenities include work areas, a prayer room, shower rooms, and a private VIP room.
