Opened in November 2017, the SkyTeam Lounge at Vancouver airport is the seventh addition to a global network of alliance-branded clubs with locations in Sydney, Dubai, Istanbul, and Hong Kong.
The club welcomes premium and elite passengers flying on SkyTeam carriers, with the notable exception of Delta (all flights to the US depart from the dedicated Concourse E, and passengers are required to go through pre-clearance and customs.) The SkyTeam Lounge also welcomes Priority Pass members.
The club is located atop a brand new structure at the heart of the terminal, in the vicinity of gates D53-D67, in front of the Cathay Pacific Lounge.
SkyTeam Lounge YVR design
The lobby, located on the ground floor, allies the sleek curves of a designer reception desk with the serene appeal of a moss living wall in the backdrop. Guests access the lounge through a single elevator.
The lounge is comprised of two wings linked by an elegant wood and glass bridge. Bathed in daylight, the club boasts panoramic views of the tarmac, with sights that extend as far as the water and mountains on clear days. Tall glass panels help block noise that bleeds from the concourse, while preserving the views in every direction. At dusk, the space glows in heart-warming colors.
The décor incorporates the DNA of the SkyTeam-branded lounges worldwide, with smooth and modern curves, natural accents of wood, shades of whites, and Earth tones enhanced by playfully-colored furniture.
Luminous and airy, the design is a perfect fit for Vancouver airport: the hardwood floors mirror the wood panels on the ceiling, and the curved beams that support the roof of the terminal seem to recall the smooth shapes of the partitions.
At 5,600 square feet (528 square meters), with seating for 126 passengers, the SkyTeam Lounge is a much more intimate space than Air Canada’s sprawling new two-story club, yet should be spacious enough for peak-time departures.
The layout accommodates a variety of seating options for solo travelers and groups alike, with privacy-enhancing partitions that shape the space without blocking natural light.
The east wing sports a circular seating area with individual seats at the periphery and additional chairs in the center separated by low partitions. All seats come equipped with an individual lamp, a side table, and power and USB outlets. A TV monitor displays riveting digital art, and in the rear are two recliners in semi-private spaces, also with a handy lamp and power outlets.
The west wing is home to the buffet and dining area, with dining tables for four, communal tables, and convenient high-top seating at the periphery. Couples will find intimate dining tables for two in the bridge linking the two wings.
SkyTeam Lounge YVR amenities
The SkyTeam Vancouver lounge features a complete line-up of amenities designed with the international traveler in mind.
Upon entering, guests are greeted by the sight of the wine bar, a convivial and architecturally-striking space with a horse-shoe shaped bar in front a curved backdrop made of natural wood. The area doubles as a social hub and as a tasting room, with plans for local wine producers to showcase their products on a regular basis. On most days, however, the bar will not be staffed—patrons may help themselves to a rotating selection of a dozen wines from automated dispensers. Soft drinks, juices, espresso, and a selection of microbrews are available in the dining area, as well as a somewhat minimal liquor selection.
With direct service both to Asia and Europe, Vancouver airport sees a diverse population of travelers, and the buffet spread aims to satisfy passengers at the cross-roads. The food is locally sourced, with an emphasis on fresh local produce such as smoked salmon, healthy items such as salads, a couple of Western-style hot entrees, and an appetizing dessert selection.
In addition, SkyTeam offers a noodle bar, with a variety of cooked-to-order Asian specialties including noodle soup with fish balls, wonton soup, shrimp dumpling, and pork dumpling. The noodle bar does away with the traditional buzzer in favor of a more modern SMS-based notification system—a great idea in theory, though some passengers may prefer to avoid expensive messages while traveling abroad.
The business center, also an architectural highlight, features a computer, a printer, and comfortable work spaces with ergonomic chairs. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the lounge.
Two over-sized shower suites equipped with a sink, a large walk-in shower, a toilet, towels, and bath amenities, round up the offering.
SkyTeam Lounge YVR bottom line
The SkyTeam Lounge at Vancouver airport delivers a fresh, modern, and comfortable experience with every major essential—such as power outlets at every seat, business facilities, and a full buffet—plus a few enjoyable extras such as a noodle bar and wine tasting room.
The alcoholic beverage selection is somewhat limited for an international lounge, and it remains to be seen how the space fares at peak times with a relatively modest footprint, and only two recliners and shower suites. Regardless, the new lounge is a substantial upgrade over the Plaza Premium lounge formerly used by SkyTeam members, and patrons can look forward to some of the airport’s most uplifting views.

Overall ratings
What a disgrace of a lounge! Seats dirty, stained and torn. Food lacking imagination and sparse to say the least. Staff chatting and disinterested. Expected way better from a Lounge in Vancouver – needs a total overhaul!
Could not access the lounge during a 10 hour transfer in spite of Aeromexico promises. Website misleading regarding access for transfer passengers.
First time, noodle bar closed, buffet bar with leftovers, dried, mushed n cannot be eaten. Washroom dirty with no toilet paper. Ubable to upload pics cause of 2mb limit.
Second time good.
Third time noodle bar closed again at 9:30pm when stated closing at 2am.
Dirty and loud. Very noisy. You basically have no privacy and hear everything from outside the lounge. The dirtiest lounge I’ve ever been to.
Disappointed
I have been to many lounges around the world, and the service here was excellent. I was taken care of from the moment I was greeted. The selection of seating is super and I was fortunate enough to secure a lounger which was lovely on my 4 hour layover. The space is large and bright. The bathrooms are spotless. Both the beer and wine selection is varied and of high quality. Did I mention the noodle bar? You are missing out if you don’t stop by.
be careful giving your credit card information, they charged me for additional guests that I didn’t have. worst customer service ever.
I will start by saying the lounge itself is roomy and comfortable and when we flew it was very quiet, which was nice. Food and drink was available and decent as snacks.
My issue was around accessing the lounge. We were flying BA, and the girl was adamant we were not booked into the Sky Lounge (even though the document clearly said Sky lounge) and that because we were flying BA we had to be in the BA lounge. It took 45 minutes which included walking to the BA lounge to be obviously told the booking says Sky lounge and a long time stood outside of the lounge just to get in…not a luxury experience. The girl did come up after and apologise, but ultimately nearly half of my time available in the lounge were spent stood outside!
